Ontario

Our eastern crew has made it to Ontario to finish off the season with plans to mark 10 Golden-wings, 10 Blue-wings, and 10 hybrids in areas north of Lake Ontario. Based on today's results, it looks like that will not be difficult. This gorgeous hybrid looks like he might have had one Brewster's parent and one Golden-wing parent. We'll wait for the DNA results, but he sure is cool to look at.

This phenotypically pure Golden-winged Warbler had some very interesting songs to sing this morning when Gunnar was recording. He was soon captured, sampled, and marked with a geolocator, and we really hope to see him again next year.
