Data, Data, Data

This is what success looks like on a geolocator retrieval tour. This geolocator was carried for the past year by a blue-winged warbler that we know spent about 3 months of that year in Michigan. Pretty soon we'll know where it spent the other 9 months!

This is what it looks like when you're downloading data from a geolocator that has been recovered and is still running. After a little unpacking and some preliminary analysis we already know where this geolocator was last winter. Once Gunnar runs it through much more sophisticated analysis, we'll know not just where but also when the bird migrated, the route it took, and how fast it made the trip.
